At Large Councilmember Mendelson will hold a Public Safety Town Hall Meeting, 6:30pm Thur, July 28, Matthews Memorial Baptist Church 2616 Martin Luther King, Jr Ave SE (Green Line Anacostia Metro).
Ward 6 Councilmember Tommy Wells is Making the Rounds in Shaw. As a result of 2011 ward redistricting, the ANC2C portion of Shaw will be included in Ward 6 under the leadership of Councilmember Tommy Wells in January 2012. He and his staff have begun reaching out to serve his new constituents. Mr Wells will briefly touch on redistricting (for those who miss the July 25 meeting). Former DYRS charge Robert Hannah was sentenced to jail again July 19; Mr Wells might offer some insight into the effectiveness and direction of that agency given his previous committee oversight over DYRS. He will also take questions and address community concerns.

- Alfonso Morgan, representing a group that has worked with CM Tommy Wells to set up farmers markets in Ward 6, will be at the CCCA meeting tonight to see if local neighbors would like to have a farmers market in our section of Shaw.
