US 2010 Census still accepting candidates for paid part time/temporary positions

Update: According to some local US Census representatives, as of this afternoon the District has not yet met its staffing needs for "enumerators" while those in surrounding jurisdictions have been fully staffed for weeks. Not only does this mean that DC residents are not taking advantage of some very good part-time/temporary job opportunities, but also that an insufficient outreach effort might translate again into the District not getting the full benefits it deserves in terms of getting necessary extra funding for city services, more MPD officers and job training programs.

interested candidates for Census 2010 enumerators or managerial positions should call (202) 507-4560. Enumerators are paid a good hourly wage for temporary part-time work in their own communities.

Each applicant for a non-supervisory position is required to take a 30 min. multiple choice evaluation consisting of 28 questions about basic math, map reading and other skills. If applicants do not pass the test the first time, they can retake the test on another day. To take a practice test and for more information, go here: Census 2010 Employment info.
